Eagle House Surgery will be a private GP practice situated within a newly refurbished GP suite at Eagle House, managed by experienced GP Dr Emma Traer. It will run alongside the other already established clinics, to offer a range of healthcare professions under one roof.

Over recent times, the NHS has sadly become more and more stretched. The surgery is opening at a time when getting an NHS GP appointment, especially with the same GP, is becoming increasingly difficult and frustrating and in some cases, navigating around the new AI booking systems.  At Eagle House Surgery we aim to offer an alternative and straightforward option, which is accessible to the whole community.

We look forward to welcoming you at the surgery.

About Dr Emma Traer:

I completed my medical degree at Bart's & the London Medical School in 2007 and subsequently, my foundation jobs at Southend Hospital, before undertaking my GP training in Ipswich and then qualifying as a GP in 2012. I am from this area and since  2014, have worked as an NHS salaried GP in Thorpe Bay.

I have special interests and specialist training in:

  • All areas of Women's Health including:
  • Family planning and sexual health and I am an experienced coil and implant fitter
  • Menopause and I hold the BMS Management of Menopause Certificate and BMS Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Menopause certificate
  • I am part of the Clinical Standards Committee for the Faculty of Family Planning and Sexual Health.
  • I am a GP trainer and support and supervise trainee GPs and a GP appraiser for the East of England.

Outside of work:

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends; I am a keen swimmer and enjoy walking and cycling.

In summary:

I will be offering general GP appointments, including blood tests, prescriptions and referrals as appropriate, as well as specialist Women's Health services.

I have a wealth of experience as a GP and within Women's Health and feel privileged to be joining this well established, multidisciplinary clinic and look forward to welcoming you to the surgery.
